Join us for our weekly houseparty vibes practice social, usually with a DJ! $7 for 1 person if paying by card - if you select Venmo/Cashapp or Cash offline pay send $6 for direct pay discount. Tuesdays 8 or 8:30-10pm, held in a private home in Richmond, VA. All attendees must be in/join our WhatsApp DE RVA Hub with a name associated with their number for the safety of our community. This is an open-level vertical learning class (going deeper into a topic vs broadening into something new) exploring and stepping into what it feels like to embody zouk. We will work on texturizing and embodying the structure of zouk in your body - using Basico as our laboratory. Knowledge of zouk timing is helpful.
Come ready to drill, explore, and play with different ways of managing how and when you shift your weight/move your torso thru space, where you carry your center (high vs low), how you can use your hips and how you can use oppositional upper body vs lower body movement (aka torsion) to have better connection, open more pathways for expression, and embody the essence of zouk.
